"...just as Christ was raised, .... we too may live a new life."
This week I want to share with you a passage we found in our ANASTASIS daily reading community forum from Romans chapter 6.
"4 We were therefore buried with him (Christ) through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. . . .
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires."
These verses describe so clearly the message we share through ANASTASIS. Jesus is risen, we need to rise to the call of the new life he made available for us!
There is a fullness of this new life that we will only be able to experience in the future, when Christ will return and establish his visible kingdom!
But there is also a first fruit of this new life that we are called to experience now. It is a life in which we are free to not obey to the evil desires within us.
In Christ we have the opportunity to live to God now and be as dead corpses to sin.
I wont always experience this life, but at least now I have a call to it and I can choose to rise to that call.
May we always remain aware of this victory we have the chance to experience and never, NEVER live as if we are meant to see sin overcome our lives.
Lets believe this new life for us and for all our brothers and sisters.
Lets desire to be dead to sin but alive to God, with a purpose and a victory that awaits us every morning.
Be blessed

11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires." This verse made me feel so good. It shows me there is hope for me with the Holy Spirit inside me helping fight the “everyday” sin that will pop in my head and try to direct my path. It is hard when your body works against you and your family, your friends are living different and you aren’t where you can always express your love of Jesus . It is the Holy Spirit in me that keeps the joy of the Lord in me. I will remember this verse with a knowing that I have a way to fight the sin that is out there every day. Thank you Jesus!!!!!
